UIN Sunan Kalijaga Social Welfare Studies Program Joins National Workshop on Learning Outcomes Alignment

The Social Welfare Studies Program (IKS) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga took part in a two-day national workshop on the Alignment of Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) for undergraduate, professional, and master’s programs, organized by the Indonesian Association of Social Welfare and Social Work Education (APKPSI) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia. The workshop was held Friday–Saturday, September 26–27, 2025, at the Juwono Sudarsono Auditorium, Universitas Indonesia.

Opened formally by the Dean of FISIP UI, the event brought together representatives from 19 social welfare and social work study programs across Indonesian universities.

Representing UIN Sunan Kalijaga were Muhammad Izzul Haq, Ph.D, Head of the undergraduate Social Welfare Studies Program, and Dr. M. Ulil Absor, M.A, Head of the Master’s Program in Social Welfare (MKS). Their presence underscored UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s commitment to strengthening curriculum alignment and learning outcomes at the national level.

The workshop aimed to finalize graduate learning outcomes (CPL) and course learning outcomes (CPMK) for core undergraduate courses, draft syllabi for the undergraduate core curriculum, develop learning outcomes for the Social Work Professional Program, and formulate graduate learning outcomes for the Master’s Program in Social Welfare and Social Work.

Over the course of two days, participants engaged in panel discussions, presentations, and group work focused on graduate outcomes for master’s programs, the development of social work professional education, and the drafting of undergraduate syllabi.

Muhammad Izzul Haq emphasized that UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s participation was a key step toward sharpening graduate profiles and ensuring curriculum relevance to the profession.“This forum is highly strategic in unifying perspectives across programs nationwide, so that graduate learning outcomes at every level can be more aligned,” he said. “It also helps lay the foundation for the future of professional social work education in Indonesia.”
