Study Program Description

Study program (Department) studies social and marginalized problems, such as poverty, disability, abandoned children, victims of violence, etc. This study program equips students with knowledge, attitudes, and skills to overcome social problems faced by individuals, families, groups, and society.

Graduate Profile

Generalist social workers who can play roles as psychosocial counsellors, managers of social Service institutions, community social workers, social advocates and researchers

Graduate Learning Outcomes

  • Be able to behave appropriately according to the teachings of  Islamic religion, Indonesian law and norms, academic ethics, and social work ethics
  • Be able to  demonstrate teamwork skills  and social sensitivity to the community  
  • Analyze social problems by social work theory, social sciences, humanities, and local wisdom in an integrative and inter-connective approach.
  • Be able to apply the principles of social justice in the analysis of social problems based on Islamic teachings and human rights.
  • Be able to apply social work practice methods at the micro, mezzo level, and macro-level as generalist practice
  •  Be able to apply micro intervention techniques to improve client capacity in problem-solving
  • Be able to demonstrate managerial functions in the management of social service organization effectively
  • Be able to train advocacy skills to marginalized groups
  • Be able to explore and optimize the potential and self-resiliency  of the community in  social problem solving
  • Be able to do qualitative and quantitative research based on social work research methods correctly.

Admission Criteria or Requirements to the Program

-    Graduated from SMA / MA / SMK / MAK / Pesantren or equivalent, a maximum of 3 (three) years before the year of registration.          

-     Specifically for disabled students, prospective students include a "certificate of disability" from a doctor/psychologist
