Social Work-Study Program Cooperates with 27 Social Welfare Institutions to Conduct Social Work Practices

Thursday, November 5, 2020 IKS Prodi held a coordination meeting of social work practicum guidance. This activity is a series of practical social work activities. This coordination meeting was attended by Siti Solechah, S.Sos.I., M.Si. as the head of the Social Welfare Science (IKS) study program, and was opened by Prof. Dr. Marhumah, M.Pd., as dean of the Faculty of Dawah and Communication of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogykarta. Participants of this coordination meeting were attended by representatives of social welfare institutions appointed by the IKS Program including: Panti Basa Putra, Panti Muhammadiyah Puta Prambanan, Panti Muhammadiyah Putri Prambanan, LKSA Al-Ikhlas, Wiloso Projo Orphanage, PKBI Jogja, P2TP2A Yogyakarta City, Yasanti, Powder, LK3 Harmoni Bantul Regency, UPTD PPA, Uthman Bin Affan Magelang Orphanage, Dinsos Kebumen, Dinsos Cilacap, Dinsos Banyumas, Dinsos Wonosobo, Dinsos Kulonprogro, Dinsos Makasar, and how many Orphanages in central Java and Yogyakarta.
This coordination meeting discussed the practical systematics of social work in the IKS program of FDK UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta as well as the socialization of social work practices (micro, mezzo, macro approaches) to practicum partner institutions. Coordination meetings are conducted via online (Zoom Meeting) for self-service and offline practicum advisers for regular line practicum advisers. Among the impressions conveyed by participants are: 1) Praktikum Prodi IKS is well-systemized and actively engaged institutions, because the institution has so far received practicum from other universities is not directed and not properly coordinated by the campus, 2). New institution partners want to establish an MoU to carry out the practice on an ongoing basis, 3) New institutions realize the importance of social workers in their institutions, 4) Institutions propose educational cooperation for their children so that the needs of social workers in the institution can be met.
The practical output of social work is that the skills of students in intervening at the individual level, family / group, community / institution, in addition the advisers understand the system and practical model of social work well, and guide students according to the target practice. Micro, mezzo, and macro social work practice are carried out from October 1st to December 30th, 2020.
