IKS Goes Global at IDACON 10: Hosting a Strategic Panel on Social Justice in a Fragmented World
The Social Welfare Study Program (IKS) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga continues to strengthen its global academic presence through its active engagement in the 10th International Da’wah Conference (IDACON 2026). In this international forum, IKS has been entrusted to host one of the featured thematic panels, marking a significant role that goes beyond participation to shaping scholarly dialogue.
The panel curated by IKS will explore the theme:
“Religion, Social Exclusion, and Structural Inequality: Social Work Practices for Social Justice in a Fragmented World.”
This theme reflects the growing urgency of positioning religion and social work as critical forces in addressing global challenges—ranging from social exclusion and structural inequality to the deepening fragmentation of contemporary societies. Within this context, social work practices grounded in Islamic values are expected to offer transformative approaches toward advancing more inclusive and sustainable social justice.
IKS’s role as a panel host also highlights its commitment to contributing both academically and practically to global conversations in social welfare. The initiative seeks to bring forward perspectives that are not only critical, but also solution-oriented in responding to increasingly complex social realities.
This participation underscores IKS’s broader vision to expand international collaboration, strengthen its academic standing, and actively contribute to global dialogues centered on humanity, justice, and coexistence.
As part of IDACON 2026, scholars, researchers, and practitioners are invited to submit their papers in line with the conference themes.
