CSSMORA IKS Commemorates Nuzulul Quran 1447 H
CSSMORA, the community of PBSB (Santri Scholarship Program) students of the Social Welfare Study Program (IKS) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, held a Nuzulul Quran Commemoration for 1447 H on Sunday afternoon at the residence of the Head of the IKS Study Program, Muhammad Izzul Haq, PhD. The event was also attended by the Secretary of the Study Program, Khotibul Umam, and took place from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM WIB, involving 40 PBSB students from the 2022, 2023, and 2024 cohorts of the IKS program.
The program was opened by Mughni (IKS 2024) as the Master of Ceremony. The main agenda of the event was the completion (khataman) of the 30 juz of the Qur’an, led by M. Bakri (IKS 2022).
On this occasion, Muhammad Izzul Haq, PhD, Head of the IKS Study Program and host of the gathering, delivered welcoming remarks and a short religious reflection (tausiyah). In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of remembering Ramadan as the month in which the Qur’an was revealed.
“Ramadan is the month in which the Qur’an was revealed as guidance for humanity (hudan linnas). The Qur’an is not only a guide for Muslims, but also carries universal values for humanity,” he stated.
He also highlighted that students of the Program Beasiswa Santri Berprestasi (PBSB) who study social welfare have a responsibility to integrate Qur’anic values with the knowledge and practice of social work.
“As future social workers and part of Indonesia’s social welfare workforce, PBSB students need to combine the values, knowledge, and skills of social work with the values of the Qur’an, so that their social practice reflects both professional and spiritual dimensions,” he added.
Following the tausiyah, the event continued with the distribution of iftar snacks (takjil), congregational Maghrib prayer, and breaking the fast together in a warm and familial atmosphere.
The Nuzulul Quran commemoration is expected to serve as a moment to strengthen students’ spirituality while reaffirming the integration of Islamic values and social welfare practice.
