Innovation and Creativity of IKS UIN Sunan Kalijaga Students: Developing a Caregiver Handbook to Strengthen Professional Care Practices

Students of the Social Welfare Study Program (IKS), cohort 2022, at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta officially handed over the Caregiver Handbook to the Head of the IKS Study Program on Tuesday (February 11, 2026). The module was developed by Azwaliza Nur Aidah (NIM 22102050018), Kansa Nur Laili (NIM 22102050034), and Annisa Putri Achmaida (NIM 22102050063) as one of the key outputs of their Social Work Practicum (Praktikum Pekerjaan Sosial/PPS).

The handbook was prepared during their practicum placement at Yayasan Sayap Ibu 2 under the supervision of Ms. Noorkamilah. The Caregiver Handbook is designed as a practical and innovative guide for caregivers and support staff to enhance service quality and strengthen their understanding of the needs of children and beneficiaries within the foundation.

The handover of this module reflects the students’ creative contribution in supporting the capacity-building of partner institutions while demonstrating the implementation of practice-based learning in the field. This innovation highlights the commitment of IKS students to delivering applicable and sustainable solutions that promote more professional, empathetic, and child-centered caregiving practices.
